Krk, is a Croatian island in the northern Adriatic Sea, located near Rijeka (Italian Fiume) in the Bay of Kvarner (Italian Quarnaro) and part of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county.
Krk is the second largest Adriatic island, with an area of 405.22 km˛, and also the most populous one, with numerous towns and villages totalling 16,402 (2001). Although recent student surveys pointed that Cres (Italian Cherso) is the largest Croatian island, official data show that Krk is the largest.
Krk, The island has been inhabited since before 10th century BCE. The Romans called the island Curicta. During the Roman Civil War, the Bay of Curicta was the scene of sea combat between the fleets of Caesar and Pompey.
Over a thousand years later, the island was the center of the Vegliot dialect of the Dalmatian language. Krk was also the seat of medieval bishops and important nobility, the Frankopans.
Krk has historically been a center of Croatian culture. Various literature in Glagolitic alphabet was created and in part preserved on Krk (notably the Baška Tablet, the oldest preserved text in Croatian).
Baska, Baska, considered one of the most beautiful coastal towns due to its architecture, is the second largest town on the Kvarner island of Krk, connected to the mainland at Kraljevica by the Krcki bridge. The town is situated on the south-eastern coast of the island, 19 km from the town of Krk in the Baska bay. A tourist complex has been built next to the old town and is easily accessible from the town of Krk, the island of Rab and the town of Senj on the mainland. Baska is known for Baskanska ploca, the oldest known Croatian language document, found in its vicinity. Apart from this, Baska has a 2 km long sandy beach with numerous sporting activities (tennis, mini golf, football, underwater fishing, diving, sailing etc.) and a 4 km long promenade along the coast dotted with restaurants and great for bike riding, jogging and roller blading. In the surroundings of Baska, there are 14 tourist trails. Baska offers various types of entertainment, such as traditional island festivals and events. We recommend Baska to families, sports lovers and young people looking to have some fun - to all of those who would like to spend their holiday in larger tourist destinations offering a variety of excellent additional services and activities.
Dobrinj, a village in the north-eastern, central part of the island of Krk, 10 km south of Omisalj. It lies on easily cultivable soil, favourable for farming. Dobrinj is located at the intersection of the regional road Klimno - Sveti Vid Miholjice and a local road.

Situated in a fertile valley, the village has maintained all features of a farming agglomeration (quality local wines, brandy, olive oil). The traditional connection with the coast - Soline (former saltern), Klimno (shipbuilding) and Silo - has been still preserved. Clear seawater, beautiful beaches and delicious food attract, unfortunately still rare, visitors to Dobrinj. In collaboration with other places (Vrbnik, Omisalj) folk festivals are organized (in July), as well as the music school of "sopela" and folklore events, common to the entire island.
Malinska, Malinska is the second largest tourist destination on the western coast of the island of Krk, connected to the mainland by the Krcki bridge. It is placed 13 km north of the town of Krk, in a large bay of rich vegetation and several beautiful sandy and pebble beaches. There are 3 swimming areas, a promenade along the coast called "Rajski put", and several facilities for tennis, mini golf, boccie, bowling, equestrian sports and water sports, such as diving, sailing and fishing. Like other tourist centers, Malinska offers excellent entertainment (cultural events, regattas and local festivals), and delicious food in the konobas (local restaurants) that serve home-grown vegetables, wine and recently caught fish or several fancy restaurants. Here, amidst the mild Mediterranean and the contrasts between the blue and the green, is the home of hospitable people to whom the climate has given the mildness and the rock and the sea have given them care and diligence. All the charm of the simple seaside ambience in the town of Punat comes from the narrow little streets, the passages, the terraces and the taverns keeping good wines, the primal whiteness of the nearby gravely beaches, and the vineyards and olive groves surrounded by rock. Punat also has a true gem in the middle of the bay – the islet of Košljun.
Punat organizes traditional feasts Puntarska Night and the Fishermen's Night (in August), and the monastery on the small island of Kosljun hosts numerous cultural events throughout the year, particularly in the summer season.

Silo has a post office, grocery store and several smaller restaurants. It is a great place for a family holiday and for those interested in water sports such as underwater fishing.
