DRVENIK VELI

Drvenik Veli - is an island in Croatian part of Adriatic Sea. It is situated in middle-Dalmatian archipelago, northwest of Šolta, 1.8 km from the mainland.

It's area is 12.07 km2, and it has population of 168 (as of 2001).
The highest peak is 178 metres high. The biggest settlement on the island is Drvenik.
The island was first inhabited in 15. century. Croatian monuments from 13. century, the island is mentioned as "Gerona" or "Giruan".
Main industries are agriculture, fishing and tourism.Coast of the island is constituted of many sand and pebble beaches.
