Podgora, place and harbor on Makarska Riviera, 9 km southeast of Makarska. It has wonderful beaches, plenty of greenery, as well as an excellent offer of hotels and restaurants. The economy is based on agriculture, wine and olive growing, maritime trade, fishing and tourism.
Sports enthusiasts have at their disposal four tennis courts, 5-a-side soccer fields, basketball and beach volleyball, as well as schools for sailing, surfing and water skiing. Water sports equipment and boats can be rented. Cultural and entertainment events, theater and folklore performances, as well as fisherman evenings are organized during the tourist season. The largest celebration in Podgora is sv. Vincenco celebration, patron saint of the town, also Podgora Day (in August, the first Sunday after August 15).
There are numerous springs with drinking water and a medicinal saltwater spring called Klokun.
